CODE OF CONDUCT: EDUCATORS TOWARDS EDUCATORS:
It is virtually important for every institution to have a set of rules and regulations. Without these there will not be any discipline.
These rules have to appeal to us and bring us to accountability and responsibility.
Our conduct must be of such a nature as not to cause diskuption in the harmonious running of the school.
All educators are in some or other way part of the management of the school and the term “management” as such should not be seen as a separate entity from teaching staff.
If an educator is absent from school for one day only, it remains his/her responsibility to inform the principal by phoning him timeously. A list of parents with telephone numbers should also be available to the principal in order to make an appointment in the educator’s absence.
In the case of formal vacation or sick leave the principal should also be supplied with work.
Be punctual as far as possible. In the event of arriving late for school, report to the responsible manager and give your apology. Remember that the punctuality of the educator sets an example to the learner.
Always be courteous towards the principal, colleagues as it sets an example to the learners
Be loyal towards the principal, school, colleagues, parents and learners.
Be loyal towards the principal, school, colleagues and above all, yourself.
CODE OF CONDUCT EDUCATORS TOWARDS LEARNERS:
Always strive to act in a responsible manner when interacting with the learners.
Take full responsibility for your actions.
Give positive feedback and rewards to a learner when it is due.
CODE OF CONDUCT EDUCATORS TOWARDS PARENTS:
Build up a positive relationship with the parents.
Be confidential and do not discuss other learners, parents or colleagues with parents.
Keep parents informed at all times with regard to their child’s progress and behaviour.
All interviews or interaction with parents should, as far as possible, take place after 14h00.
